We build ideas into businesses, stories, places, and experiences designed to last.
Explore Our WorkMatherne Works is a family-built company created to turn ideas into something real. Some ideas become businesses. Some become stories. Some become places. And some are simply too good not to chase.
What connects them is a belief that the best things aren’t built for a moment. They’re built to last.
See it before you plant it.
Yard Studios helps homeowners reimagine outdoor spaces before spending money on plants, materials, and installation. Customers share their space, goals, style, and budget. We turn that information into a visual yard design and a practical plan for bringing it to life.

Built under Matherne Works, Yard Studios is where the philosophy becomes practical: take a real problem, create a clear solution, and make the end result easier to see.
Products, services, and opportunities that solve real problems.
Books, films, designs, and experiences worth sharing.
Land, history, family stories, traditions, and things worth carrying forward.
There were too many ideas sitting in notebooks, conversations, and “someday” plans. So we started building them.
The name Matherne Works is intentionally bigger than any one project. It represents the work itself—the willingness to take an idea, put our name behind it, and see whether we can turn it into something meaningful.
That is Matherne Works.
